When you decide to import a car from Germany you must first understand whether it is a car with exposed VAT or a car with margin VAT:<\/p>\n\n

  2. Cars with VAT at the margin<\/strong> are vehicles previously owned by at least one private owner. They are, therefore, cars in which the VAT payment has already been made by the first private person who purchased the car. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    Cars with VAT displayed have been owned exclusively by companies that have downloaded the value added tax. When a dealer sells these vehicles, therefore, the total cost is made up of the net price of the car plus the percentage of VAT which in Germany is currently 19%<\/strong>. So if a private individual decides to buy a car from a German dealer, he will pay a tax of 19% and not 22% as in Italy. But this only if the car is used for tax purposes, that is, if it has traveled more than 6,000 kilometers and more than 6 months have passed since the first registration. <\/p>\n\n

Finally, private sellers may grant discounts more easily, but this too is a situation that must be evaluated individually, case by case. <\/p>\n\n
